I arrived in West Palm Beach the other evening. I've been hanging out with my friend out here, not doing a whole lot. I'm preparing to teach her middle school kids how to edit video on the Mac next week. So I've been installing software and testing different workflows out. We discovered today that the most basic MacBook doesn't have a SuperDrive installed. How lame is that, Apple? Why include iMovie and iDVD with no way of burning videos? Argh.
Anyway, none of this is interesting to you I know. But I just wanted to report in and tell you that the weather is warm, the skies sunny, and the bed comfy.

How do you know that this isn't intresting to people who read this blog? Do you really think that the people who read this are only PC users? I know many people who need to upgrade their Apple/Mac and I think Mac is a great tool for schools. i Movie is excellent and how many people do you think there are who have it and don't know how to use it, even though it is so simple and produces amazing results. How many future Filmgen kids are out there who might get hooked and produce their own "Missing Pieces" movie( see last blog response from the other day) if they only had someone like you to guide them on their first movie? Do you think that there is a business possibility out there for a Mac Consultant such as yourself who has an iMovie speciality? I think that you highly underestimate the talent which you have, as seen in "Missing Pieces" and traveling around the world ( Why not find someone who is an international tour guide and ask them how they built their business?) Do you know Rick Steves? Could that be you in a year or two?
There are so many possibilities and options that you should feel great about " The Future" Have you ever seen the PBS special on Cuba and the people who have put themselves in the ocean in very simple boats / rafts and hope they make to the USA? How do you think they feel upon arrival in the USA ? Do you think they are depressed, bummed out, sad, lonely, or are they excited about the future and all of the potential in the USA? Why don't you approach your own life from that angle?
When you are about to feel down, then think about all of the people who came over from Vietnam (or Mexico, Germany, France, etc) and opened a restaurant and make more than some big business person who cheated the system and is now in jail.
Why not start a "Missing Pieces" movie before you get a job? You might make it big like Lewis did.
